Calculators

You want to know your current carbon foot print? How much energy you could be generating with photovoltaic panels? Below are a few links  that will provide energy calculators for determining your total energy consumption.

PV Watts Solar Calculator

The purpose of this tool is to allow you to calculate how much energy will be produced by photovoltaic solar panels in a geographical area. It takes into account the amount of sun in the area and average electric rates.

The PVWatts Version 1 calculator uses hourly typical meteorological year (TMY) weather data and a PV performance model to estimate annual energy production and cost savings for a crystalline silicon PV system.

The PVWatts Version 2 calculator uses hourly typical meteorological year weather data and a PV performance model to estimate annual energy production and cost savings for a crystalline silicon PV system.  For Version 2, performance is first calculated for the nearest TMY2 location and then translated to the desired Version 2 40-km grid cell location. The translation process uses grid cell monthly values of solar radiation and meteorological parameters. Because the translation process uses monthly values, hourly values of PV performance are not available for Version 2
