How It Works
FL Green Energy offers clients installation of a Direct Solar Water Heater System, also known as an “Open-Loop System.” In this system, water that will be used throughout your home or business is directly heated by running within the copper pipes located within the solar collector.

The two main components of a Solar Water Heater are the solar collector and the storage tank. The collector gathers the energy produced by the sun and heats the water that will be used in your house or business. A typical flat-plate collector is an insulated metal box with a glass or plastic cover (called the glazing) and a dark-colored absorber plate. These collectors heat liquid or air at temperatures less than 180°F (USDOE). A flat plate collector takes up very little space is the most commonly used for residential water heating purposes.
